The BEST resort for family vacations in the Caribbean

Sandals resort is a luxury all-inclusive hotel chain in the Caribbean. There are 19 properties in all. 16 of them are for couples in love only, while 3 of them, the Beaches resorts, are for EVERYONE! Whether you are single, girlfriends, families, or grandparents… you will find your slice of paradise at any of the Beaches resort. Reason? It’s All Included. All Unlimited. All The Time.

I’ve just visited the Beaches Ocho Rios and here is a quick review of why you should consider this amazing property for your next family vacation and spoil yourself crazy.

Beaches Ocho Rios

Accomodations:

There are 222 rooms and 16 category of rooms. There are oversized rooms and suites that are designed to fit families of all sizes.  Each suite is luxuriously appointed and incredibly spacious. This Beaches resort is smaller, so no villas here. But villa style accommodations are available at the Beaches Turks and Caicos and Beaches Negril, and can even come with a butler to take care of you.oceanview suite with veranda

Childcare:
Beaches resorts are the only resorts in the Caribbean where infant care and accredited nannies are included all day, everyday. It is a complimentary program for newborn babies to teenagers. Every age group has their own space and activities. They will take young children to snorkel at the beach, or ride on the boat. They also do lots of arts and crafts and even made art work with local flavor. Individual nanny service is also available. Parents can have an evening to enjoy a meal and spend time at the bar while knowing your little ones are in good hands.

Swimming pools and beach:
Just like the other Beaches resort, the Ocho Rios resort has the most thrilling waterpark for kids of all ages. Pirates Island offers a splash-tastic experience with gigantic geysers, water cannons, 11 waterslides including a tube slide and speed slide. The zero entry kiddie pool even comes with kid size sun loungers.  Of course, there are pools with swim-up bar for the grown ups. And a quiet pool for those who craves some peace. All the pools are supervised and have lifeguards on duty all day, so parents can have the opportunity to truly unwind. It’s All-Included in your vacation.Beaches Ocho Rios Waterpark

The beach at the Ocho Rios resort is a smaller cove style beach. This makes it very easy to keep an eye on your children while you relax and sunbathe. It’s a very private beach. If you like a more expansive beach, then, the Beaches in Negril, Jamaica fronts the famous 7 mile beach and Beaches Turks and Caicos rest along the beautiful Grace Bay beach. They all come with turquoise blue ocean water.

On site Activities:
You can take a lesson or play a match with a tennis pro or a golf pro.  Watersports like kayaking, windsurfing, Hobie Cat sailing, banana boats, SUP, Aquatrikes, and many others are ALL INCLUDED. There is also a Bubblemaker Program, where you can spend the morning learning how to scuba dive at the pool with instructors, and by the afternoon, you can go diving off the coast. You can even get PADI certified on site if you wish. Here is a picture of a family getting lessons at the pool when I visited. Children must be 10 yrs and above to participate. Only Beaches include unlimited golf and green fees, and unlimited scuba diving.Bubblesmaker Scuba Dive learning program

Dining:  From authentic Jamaican jerk chicken to escargot, we have you covered. You can experience French, Italian, Mediterranean, and seafood and buffet.. What I like best about Sandals and Beaches resorts is that they really can cater to any food allergies. I will alert the culinary experts team in advance of your stay. When you arrive, a chef will personally meet you and design a menu just for you at each of their restaurants. Now THAT is a REAL vacation with peace of mind!

Another unique feature of Beaches resort is the partnership with Sesame Street program. Kids can parade around the resorts with the friendly Sesame Street characters, go bird watching with Big Bird, bake with Cookie Monster, have tea with Elmo, do science projects with Grover and more. Kids can have breakfast with them and you can even have them visit your room, read a bedtime story, and tuck your little ones in!

Off the resort, you can climb the famous Dunn’s River Falls or visit the birthplace of King of Reggae, Bob Marley. You can also go horseback riding along the beach, ride a bobsled roller coaster in the jungles, visit a bioluminescent bay, bike the Blue Mountains, or fish the Caribbean sea.

Whether you want adventures to experience what Jamaica has to offer, or lazy days at the resort, to disconnect from everyday life and reconnect with your family, Beaches resort is a great idea.
